Best Green Cleaning Products
Hey, ya’ll, today I want to share what green cleaning products I personally recommend. We’ll go over each type and why I chose them.
I personally enjoy the smell and usability of “Mrs. Meyer’s clean day” Multi-Surface Cleaner. I fell in love with the “mum” scent of their soap and had to get the same fragrance for their all-purpose as well.
It’s made with plant-derived green cleaning ingredients and makes dusting just smell soooo fresh.
Glass cleaner
Also from the Mrs. Meyers company, their glass cleaner is a great green cleaning choice. I got the lemon verbena scent, which is a light and refreshing citrus scent.
Be sure to dry the mirror after you use it to keep streaks at bay.
Bathroom cleaner
This is what I use for green cleaning on the surfaces of a toilet. It’s “Method Antibac Bathroom Cleaner” and it naturally disinfects without the harsh chemicals a lot of other products have.
The cool thing about this is how it uses citric acid to do the dirty work, killing 99.9% of bacteria. I had no idea that the same thing that makes lemons sour can help kill germs. Another bonus is it gets rid of nasty smells 🤢.
Tough powder cleaner
This was a hard one to find for the sake of green cleaning. I wanted a powder cleanser that actually cleans tough messes and dirty tubs, but was also non-toxic. I eventually settled on “BonAmi Scratch-Free Powder Cleanser” and I haven’t looked back since.
I use it on tubs, shower fixtures, shower floors, shower glass, and the kitchen stove. It does great when you scrub the surface and let it sit for a few minutes afterwards. You can use it for your pots and pans as if you want them as shiny as when you got ‘em.
Hard-surface floor cleaner
This was definitely the product I was the pickiest about. I looked at reviews of floor cleaners to be sure I wasn’t going to use anything that could damage floors or leave nasty streaks. Streaks can get bad from the build-up of floor cleaner over time. It’s important to use a very small amount mixed with water unless directed. I ended up just using “Mrs. Meyer’s Dish Soap” (the “mum” scent again). Water and a drop of dish soap are the way to go for all hard-surface floors.
