Your Apron and Tools
Wear your apron at all times when cleaning.
Always have these items in the same place on your apron for every step. Keep them clean and replace if they become too worn to clean with:
All-purpose
You will be using this one in almost every step. It’s used as a degreaser if sprayed on the mess itself or for scrubbing when you use a cloth already wet with all-purpose.
1-2 blue cloths
Used for cleaning glass and toilets (dispose immediately after)
Be sure to toss into dirty cloths bag when too dirty to clean efficiently.
1-2 white cloths
Used for drying sinks/tubs/showers and polishing metal, sinks, etc. to shine.
Great for picking up dust and hair, but don’t use on mirrors as they tend to smear and scratch by picking up dust and dragging it on the surface.
Feather duster
For quick dusting on recurring cleans.
Toilet toothbrush
This is used to get into corners and edges a cloth can’t reach to scrub.
Ex: grime on small edges on cabinets.
Scraper
Used mostly on kitchen counters and bathroom counters to scrape up junk stuck to the surface that doesn’t come off with a cloth.
Here’s what you’ll also want to keep in your apron for these areas of the home:
Bathrooms
Glass cleaner
Gloves
Metal toilet screen
(Comet, Barkeeper’s, and the scrub brush should be put next to item currently cleaning)
Kitchen
Degreaser
(Put Barkeeper’s next to sink)
Dusting + Trash
Microfiber duster
Trash bags
